What is Nisab?

Nisab is the minimum amount of wealth a Muslim must possess for one full year before Zakat (obligatory charity of 2.5%) becomes due. It is calculated based on the value of gold or silver. If your total wealth exceeds the Nisab threshold and you've held it for a lunar year, you must pay Zakat on it.
